DaWe17

From May 11 to May 12, 2017 40 experts met at the DaWe17 – Conference for Data Collection and Analysis with Wearables.
The DaWe17 was organised by the Department of Work, Organizational and Media Psychology at the Johannes Kepler University and took place in the seminar hotel Wesenufer near Linz (Upper Austria).
A special highlight was the Pre-Conference-Workshop on 10 May, 2017, which included a guided tour through the Ars-Electronica-Center (AEC) and dinner.

The DaWe17 adresses researchers in the field of psychology as well as experts and persons who work in related areas or are in a leadership position. Target of the conference is to improve networking and information exchange of research and data collection with wearables.

Wearables make collecting digital data of human behaviour and interaction patterns easier.
They collect physiological and geotracking data in addition to data concerning social, athletic and professional acitvities.

These data offers an enormous potential for psychological research; however, the psychometric criteria of quality and the added value of wearables are still little studied.
