People from Space

        Audrey was reading a book about caterpillars when she heard a loud commotion outside. She looked through the curtains and saw a large, flashing spaceship parked in the street. Little people in spacesuits were walking all over the flower-beds making an awful mess. And they were chasing her cat.
        "Mum," she shouted. "There are some people from space in our garden, and they're frightening the cat."
        "We'll soon see about that!" replied her mother, taking off her apron. Audrey followed her as she stepped outside.
        "Let go of that cat!" ordered Audrey's mother.
        One of the people from space pulled out a big, spiky ray gun and zapped her with a green ray. This made her disappear, much to Audrey's annoyance. Then, the person from space then pointed the ray gun at Audrey herself.
        "It's alright, you can have the cat," she said, but the person from space just wouldn't listen, and shot right at her! Luckily, Audrey ducked in time, and ran back into the house.
        "This won't do," she said to herself, so she went into the kitchen and found a big, shiny spoon. She hid it inside her cardigan, then walked back to the front door. Carefully, she opened it, so the people from space wouldn't notice. They were eating the tulips.
        "If you don't get out of here immediately, I shall call the police!" she shouted.
        With that, all the people from space pointed their ray guns at Audrey and fired! However, she was expecting this, and swiftly pulled out her spoon. The green rays reflected off the spoon and bounced around all over the place, making anything they hit disappear. A moment later, all the people from space had gone, along with their flashing spaceship and many of the houses down Audrey's street.
        Fortunately, Audrey's cat had hidden behind a dustbin, and so was saved.

Audrey had some explaining to do when the police finally did arrive...
